I’m loving all of the flesh tones that are around for the new season. The Spring Summer catwalk shows were awash with them and everyone from Lanvin to Dior showed gorgeously pared down creations that reflected a new simplicity in fashion.
It’s made me think about how simple, muted looks can work beautifully for interior styling too. Soft neutrals and off-whites like Crown’s Corset, Purity and Milk White are great for recreating a simplistic, yet sophisticated room. They work beautifully when teamed with natural fibres like hessian and raffia – things that are very much in vogue at the moment as traditional crafts and skills are having a real renaissance!
These colours also look stunning when teamed with a shot of colour. http://www.vogue.co.uk/video/voguetv/player.aspx/catwalk-shows/video,9262/
We have seen it on shoes, tan and cream leather with a punch of vibrant colour (Prada)- the same theory can work for interiors. Crown’s new Feature Wall collection has six vibrant hues that look amazing teamed with these simple neutrals, but clever accessorising can bring a look bang up-to-date if you’re not ready to go for full on colour. A vase in lilac or even a chartreuse cushion can be just enough to make an impact.
