What an amazing evening, The Royal College of Art, MA Fashion Show 2010 last night
The beauty, skill and talent of these designers left me yearning for more. Across menswear & womenswear, both stunning creative, colourful, commercial and intelligent design work. Crown Paints are proud to support the RCA and we are passionate about supporting and developing new talent. I felt privileged to see the fashion show and the result of the hard work from these excellent designers.
So much can be learnt from embracing new ideas, colours textures. Ideas that Crown will aim to bring to life in our paint collections in coming seasons. Even more poignant, that my visit to the RCA Show followed a meeting of the 2011 Crown Colour Influences Panel – a very colour filled day for me!
I love so many of the creations that I saw. After being told off for taking photographs, I will have to describe my highlights.
Beautiful white leather embellished and cut dresses by Poppy Cartwright
Stunning and fresh colour combinations from Kirsty Emery, I utterly loved the acid yellows and pink.
Nabil El-Nayal , a Crown Paints favourite since winning our Sponsored Crown Jewels project left us amazed with dramatic creations, intense and dramatic dresses in layered dark colours with delicate fabrics. Nabil is a true talent and a lovely bloke – he is definitely one to watch!  (www.crownpaint.co.uk – click on stencils)
Zara Gorman hat collection was amazing, beautiful structural pieces in black – a real show stopper.
Morten Underbjerg Olesen (another Crown winner) has the most beautiful berry shades, pinks and apple greens, layered with gold embellishment. Morton created the Crown stencil ‘Modern Rose’, you cen see his passion for floral influences. (www.crownpaint.co.uk – click on stencils)
Danielle Romeril – beautiful tribal influences. Colours from purple to clay and terracotta, using embellishment and photo prints, plus natural textures.
Simone Sommer – I loved her colours, I loved the tomato red floor length dressed, highlighted with nude and flesh pink. Just beautiful simple and perfect.
Plus I cannot forget the divine footwear collection by Sophie Grace – inspired by butterflies, I wanted to pop every shoe she has created in my bag and run for the door (but her very proud Dad was guarding them carefully)! Simply perfect as they are.

RoseSofa

It’s time to get the creative juices flowing once again, as Crown launches the latest of their gorgeous Crown Jewel’s stencils, in conjunction with the Royal College of Art.

The Rose is the second stencil to be launched this year, and it’s a beautiful contemporary design with a hand drawn effect. The designer, Morten Underbjerg Olesen, is set to graduate from the RCA this summer, and chose to create a modern interpretation of a classic rose design, when creating his bespoke stencil for Crown.

We love this stencil for its simplicity and beauty, and depending on the Crown colours you choose to paint it with, it can be a truly eye catching, bold design, or a soft and subtle whisper of elegance.

Stencils are so easy to apply and add a modern and directional look to any room in the house. The Rose has been produced by the Stencil Library, and at just £39, it is a quick and inexpensive way to update your home!
