Make sure you look out for our stunning new TV ad ‘Walls Come to Life,’ our most vibrant ad yet. It showcases a range of brights that will inspire and amaze you to be brave with your interiors across all rooms in your home. We were also lucky enough to work alongside acclaimed illustrator, David Bray, who created some fantastic illustrations that appear throughout the ad.
 

Walls are brought to life using striking colours evoked by fun-filled memories. Exotic salsa dancers sweep across crisp white walls, New York skyscrapers emerge from the skirting boards and a friendly pink octopus adds a cheeky bit of fun to a children’s bedroom.
 

A variety of Crown colours appear in the ad including deep reds, Scarlett Ribbon® (Crown Period Colours®) and Crimson Kiss® (Crown Indulgence®), to create a seductive atmosphere of Latin heat . Warm yellows such as Happy Daze® and Prairie Gold® feature in the New York skyline illustration and reminds us of the hustle and bustle of city life, creating a real Manhattan feel. And bright pinks and blues like Fairy Dust® and Laguna Bay® will brighten up any kid’s bedroom.  Make sure to use our Easyclean with Stainguard® to protect walls from sticky fingers and crayon marks.

The New York skyline is one of the most inspiring scenes in the world and it’s inspired us so much that it plays a key part in our brand new TV ad – ‘Bringing Walls to Life’. In celebration of the city that never sleeps and to mark the debut of our new TV ad this month, we are launching a fantastic competition to win an amazing array of prizes – including a trip of a lifetime to New York!

The competition launches on 15^th August and all details will be housed on our facebook page all you need to do is head over to our page and ‘like’ us. We will be tweeting too so make sure you follow us to receive regular updates, and our blog will be updated with new details on how to enter and what you can win so make sure you keep checking in for your chance to get involved.

Over the next eight weeks we will be running themed competitions each week, all of which require you to view our new TV ad to find the answers. The prizes, including an iPod and docking station, tickets to Sealife Centres, salsa dancing lessons, children’s bedroom makeovers, New York cab hire, and of course free paint, are all inspired by our exciting TV ad. The first sight of the Manhattan skyline really sets your pulses racing. There’s so much to see and do – after all they don’t call it the city that never sleeps for nothing! So what will you do if you’re our lucky winner? Will it be the Statue of Liberty or The Empire State Building, shopping on 5^th Avenue or a helicopter trip through the skyscrapers? This weekend we were at the second annual Vintage Festival at London’s Southbank centre that featured a whole array of vintage themed entertainment. We staged very our own tea room at the festival located within the Vintage Market to launch our very own Crown Vintage® paint range. Our tent was shared with wonderful vintage caterers, Jam & Tea, who were on hand to provide classic British refreshments to a well attired crowd. Most festival goers and press joined us to relax after spending time browsing the vintage goods on offer at the market  to take a look at the full range of Crown Vintage® paint that was on display.  

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Crown Vintage® colours proved popular with everyone and many singled out Enamel Green™, Mean Mustard® and Fade to Grey® as favourites. It also provided us with a great opportunity to meet our customers and provide some advice on how best to use the Crown Vintage® paints at home to gain a similar effect to those featured in our inspirational photography We were lucky enough to have festival organisers and Crown Vintage® range collaborators, Wayne and Gerardine Hemingway, join us to discuss the colours over tea and scones.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Later in the afternoon we took the opportunity to explore the festival and gain inspiration amongst the plethora of retro delights that were on show. A wide variety of bespoke homewares from across the 20^th century, such as original 50s Danish furniture and lighting from the 30s was available to buy at the event.  The range of goods on display was staggering and if you looked in the right places you could pick up unique pieces that would work as ideal props in a room painted with colours from the Crown Vintage® range.
