What a fab final day to the Crown Colour Trends & Influences 2011 shoot! We're all a little bit sad, a little bit exhausted but very happy with how the colour palettes and images have turned out.

Our final day started with the lovely Ellie from MyDeco www.mydeco.co.uk and Francesca from the Sunday Mirror, Homes and Hoildays  popping down to have a look around the sets, a sneak peak at the final shots and a chat with the trends panel, Judy and myself  from Crown and of course the fabulous Ali Brown from Homes & Gardens www.homesandgardens.co.uk

The team have been working hard to make sure we're all wrapped up by the end of the day, and today was all about creating the still life shots to accompany the feature images. The finished products look set to be really beautiful, colourful and stylish.

With fellow panelists garden designer, Kathryn Hibberd and furniture designer Tom Price paying us a visit to see how it was all going going, it was a jam packed shoot today.

So that's it! The shoot is complete, the house is just about back to normal and the final still life shot is being taken. Thanks to everyone who helped make the shoot happen and we can't wait to share the final shots and Crown Colour Influences with you!

Watch this space!

Day 1 of the Crown Colour Trend & Influences shoot kicked off to a flying start yesterday. In the heart of North London in a gorgeous location house, filled with beautiful odds and ends and packed with character. This is the perfect setting to bring the ideas of the 2011 Crown Colour Influencers to life.

For the next three days is the home of Crown Paints it's here that amazing stylist, and Crown Colour Panel member Ali Brown, is bring our 2011 colour themes to life.

Yesterday morning started with setting up bright and early outside – heavy rain was forecast but thankfully we got through most of the morning without a drop. So with the sun just about shining, the three outdoor trends, incorporating Crown, Sadolin and Sandtex colours were set up and shot with the help of the rest of the crew consisting of set builders and photographers.

All the sets look beautiful and it is very exciting to see the Crown Colour Trends come to life after months of build up, preparation and meetings. A whole array of brand new colours are being used, and we don't want to say too much and ruin the surprise of the finished article but you are in for a treat!

More tomorrow

Love Jo & Judy

Unfortunately I’m writing this a few days after the event, but I’m still going to say ‘WOW’ what a night! I’m talking about the Orange RockCorps gig at Manchester Apollo last Thursday which featured Mr Hudson, Vampire Weekend, Tinie Tempah and mr Snoop Dogg himself!!
For those that haven’t heard of Orange RockCorps, it’s a partnership between RockCorps; a social production company, and Orange, who use the power of music to inspire young people to volunteer just 4 hours of their time in their local community. Projects in Manchester ranged from a youth centre in Ordsall to an adventure playground in Moss Side. And the reward for getting involved? Gig’s and events like last Thursday’s which are absolutely, totally and entirely free!! Basically, ‘Give and Get Given’.
The reason I’m talking about all of this is because Crown Paints donate the paint that’s used in all the UK projects. This is our first year being involved and allows us to work with a really fantastic, UK wide community project, whilst also being a much more environmentally friendly way of using any of our damaged or end of line paint. So simple yet so effective for all involved.
And honestly, I’m just a little bit inspired to pick up my paintbrush and spade and get involved myself…

Today, Crown are excited! People, get your iPhone’s at the ready and download Crown’s amazing new app; ‘Crown Colour Match’. This is the first app to help you  match your perfect colour to any Crown ready mixed paint, wherever and when ever see it…and it’s brill!  To explain; say you love the colour of a dress you’ve seen, or a cushion, or even a shoe! Take a picture, or access an existing shot from your photo album, and crop and zoom until you find the area of colour you want. Crown Colour Match will then recommend the nearest Crown paint, along with a complementary and a bolder colour choice. It will tell you what products the colours are available in, and the piece de resistance, search to find the nearest stockist complete with directions.
We’ve all been having a play with it in the office, and now know that studio’s fantasy football world cup trophy is ‘Silver Mine’, the hotseat chair is ‘Blue Mosel’ and my slightly worse for wear bonsai tree is ‘Hobby Horse’!
Have a go yourself, download it for free from the Apple store
http://itunes.apple.com/us/app/crown-colour-match/id377182669?mt=8# or keep an eye out for the link from the Crown website.
